ECS Systems: A Year of Giving Back

At ECS Systems, 2024 has been a year defined not only by innovation and growth but also by a steadfast commitment to supporting our community through charitable initiatives. From local partnerships to impactful fundraisers, our team has gone above and beyond to make a difference.

Supporting Purple Heart Wishes

This year, ECS Systems proudly partnered with Purple Heart Wishes as our Charity of the Year. Purple Heart Wishes grants life-changing experiences to adults aged 18–55 diagnosed with terminal illnesses. This cause, championed by our Finance Assistant Ruth, holds special significance for our team. Ruth introduced the charity after witnessing its heartfelt work firsthand, and we’ve been honoured to play our part in helping them create unforgettable memories for those facing incredibly tough circumstances.

Our efforts included hosting a 5-a-side football tournament with W K Webster and Co Ltd, raising £255 for the cause. This, combined with other initiatives like our highly successful Quiz Night, brought our total contributions to Purple Heart Wishes to nearly £1,000 – with more fundraising events still to come.

Hospital Visits: Spreading Joy at Queen Elizabeth Hospital

This year, our team brought smiles to young patients at Queen Elizabeth Hospital through seasonal visits. From delivering Easter eggs in bunny costumes to dropping off Halloween crafts and sweets, our visits to the Dolphin, Hippo, and Safari wards have been all about spreading cheer. Looking ahead to Christmas, we’re excited to contribute toys to the hospital’s annual gift initiative, ensuring every child visiting the wards receives something special this festive season.

Taking the Leap for Alzheimer’s

Hannah Warner, our Accounts Payable Controller, went the extra mile – or rather, the extra altitude – to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society. Inspired by personal connections to the cause, Hannah participated in a charity skydive and supported the Alzheimer’s Trek26 event, celebrating with participants as they crossed the finish line. Her fearless efforts embody the spirit of ECS, demonstrating how individual actions can make a profound impact.

Driving Donations for Local Food Banks

Led by Maintenance Coordinator Katie Hope, our team rallied together to collect essential items for our local Trussell Trust food bank. From washing pods to tinned meals and hot drinks, we focused on providing much-needed supplies to families in need. This initiative highlights how small acts of kindness can contribute to addressing the wider issue of food insecurity in the UK.

Supporting Bobby Moore Fund on Football Shirt Friday

As passionate football fans, we embraced Football Shirt Friday to support the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK. Donning our favourite team kits, we raised awareness and funds to tackle bowel cancer, honouring Bobby Moore’s legacy and supporting life-saving research.

Donations Making a Difference

Our commitment to supporting the local community also extended to donations of Pyronix smart plugs to Sidcup Partners, ensuring added safety and convenience for Holy Trinity Lamorbey Church of England School.

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on 2024, we are immensely proud of our team’s dedication to making a positive difference. From raising funds to delivering hands-on support, these initiatives highlight the values that define ECS Systems.

We’re excited to continue building on these efforts in the coming year, working together to support causes that matter most to our team and our community.
