Could you be right for our team?

With our 10th anniversary just around the corner, there’s never been a better time to join ECS Systems as a fire and/or security systems engineer!

We’re continuing to expand to meet our clients’ needs and provide the reliable systems they need to secure their sites.

If you are looking for a company that cares about providing the best possible service to its clients and supporting its employees to achieve just that, here’s a little more about what this role entails, along with the skills and traits you’ll need to be considered for an engineering position.

What can you expect from the role?

  • Our client base is mostly within the M25. From time to time, you may travel to the Home Counties. Some days are shorter and some longer, depending on where you live, but your travelling will be balanced across the working week.

  • The salaries and employment packages we offer are competitive in relation to your skills, experience and working day.

  • If you enjoy a varied job role, we work with multiple systems, manufacturers and partners and support our team with learning. Our offering is continuously evolving as technology changes and develops.

  • As the company continues to grow, we have introduced new roles and responsibilities. We regularly review our team’s performance and provide opportunities for development and progression and will look to promote within, should the opportunity arise.

  • Our office team work closely with you to provide everything you need to deliver the high standards of work that our customers expect from ECS.

What do you need to excel as a field engineer?

  • A natural talent for great communication. Customers will often look to you for updates and answers, so you need to be able to share information with them clearly and compassionately, even when you (or they) are under pressure.

  • A courteous manner. Regardless of the challenges you’re facing, treating customers and colleagues with the respect they deserve is paramount.

  • Natural organisational skills. From prioritising tasks to managing last-minute requests, you’ll need a ‘can-do’ attitude towards completing your jobs.

  • A natural curiosity, because engineers are problem-solvers at heart. You’ll love to learn the ins and outs of how our security and fire safety systems work, and you’ll always be open to new products and approaches.

  • An ability to build a rapport quickly with clients and colleagues and maintain relationships when challenges arise.

What do we look for in our new recruits?

The ability to demonstrate sound technical knowledge of the most popular security and fire systems is vital. You will have gained practical experience working in the industry.

You will also have a proven track record of loyalty towards your previous employer(s) and liaising with customers and colleagues in a respectful and conscientious way. (We take customer care extremely seriously here at ECS, so this is a big one for us.)

We look for engineers who have worked with multiple security systems, and have the confidence to work with a range of manufacturers’ equipment. However, we do provide training for unfamiliar systems specified by the client. If you’d like to learn more about the opportunities currently available for engineers here at ECS, or have any further questions regarding what’s in store when you apply for an engineering role, please call our office on 0208 300 9996 or send your CV to careers@ecssystems.co.uk.
